Dosage Guide
Dogs: 0.1 mg/kg PO once daily (initial 0.2 mg/kg). Cats: 0.05 mg/kg PO once daily (label dose, short-term only). Rabbits: 0.3-0.5 mg/kg PO once daily. Guinea pigs: 0.2-0.3 mg/kg PO once daily.

Side Effects
- •GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence)
- •Renal impairment with chronic use or dehydration
- •GI ulceration (rare at therapeutic doses)
Important Warnings

- !Metacam label for cats is single-dose injectable; oral use is off-label
- !Ensure adequate hydration before administration

Contraindications
Do not use this medication in the following situations:
- ✕Dehydrated or hypotensive animals
- ✕Concurrent corticosteroid use
- ✕Pre-existing renal disease
- ✕Active GI ulceration or bleeding
